Agenda Q&A: Han Cholo
Agenda Q&A: Han Cholo
by Vanessa Chiu
A little lowdown from Han Cholo’s designer and founder Brandon Schoolhouse. In 2002, Han Cholo jewelry was born and raised in the belly of Hollywood, California…inspired by Brandon’s long love affair with everything rock ‘n’ roll, science fiction, fantasy art, and hip hop culture, the line has become THE accessory among young Hollywood fashionistas and celebrities alike. Han Cholo designs are bold, edgy, and steeped in pop culture influences that resonate with a young, fashion-forward generation. Enter the dragon…
How did you get started in the industry?
I worked for the Beastie Boys back in the days doing A&R. they would be going on all these shoots, and we would always talk about how the Jewelry just wasn’t there. It lacked the creativity that I was looking for. I wanted more rock n roll, syfy, star wars kinda stuff. So I decided to start designing things that I would wear, inspired by things that I love; Vintage Toys, Comic Books, Star Wars, Music etc.
